Pole vaulting draws the hot women

Allison Stokke set the bar for pole vaulters (yay, pun!). Then along came Melanie Adams and we started to wonder if we were seeing a trend. Now, we're glad to say, the trend has been confirmed. Introducing Tatiana Grigorieva, pole vaulter from Australia.

But we're not done! No, we're not! Introducing the United States' Mary Sauer.

What is it with holding a looong pole that brings out the hot babes anyway? Never mind...

Anna Kournikova competed in a triathlon

Hell we just did a post on a pole vaulter so it only makes sense to follow it up with a post about a former tennis player running a triathlon. I think it's in the book Blogging for Dummies (which I really need to finish/start writing). Anyhoo, Miss Anna Kournikova competed in the Nautica South Beach Triathlon.

I myself have never competed in a triathlon, but I would venture to guess that if Anna were to start out right in front of me in a swimsuit, then in the clothes you see in these pictures, I would find a way to keep up.

Allison Stokke still doing track, still attractive

The ever-vigilant MyChillPill ran into some pictures of Allison Stokke from a recent Cal track meet. I really don't see what the big deal is. She's young, athletic, attractive, basically the kind of girl I go out with every day.

These girls like Allison are a dime a dozen around here. Oh shit... was I typing all that? Sorry, my daydreams somehow leaked out on to the keyboard. Carry on. More pics here, btw.

Pole vaulter Melanie Adams is Australia's Allison Stokke

The sports wizards over at FanIQ has unearthed a lady soon to rival that of Internet legend Allison Stokke for the title of Hottest Female Pole Vaulter. Right now the list stands is composed of Stokke and uh, well, no one else. The woman we speak of is named Melanie Adams, she is from Australia... rowrrr... and she is a V8 Supercar Grid Girl (whatever the hell that is, I'm in favor of it).

And I would like to take this moment to scold the Web site MyFreeSport for the following paragraph, which appears in an article on the lovely young athlete...

She's Melanie Adams, a pole vaulter by trade - and, although that isn't instantly evident from the picture, you should have seen some of the shots we had to discard before settling on this one. Borderline smut, it was, with Miss Adams pouting and posturing in the type of attire that would never pass IOC muster, but which might make top-level athletics more appealing to the masses. In one shot, she appears to be carelessly spilling water down her sports brassière; in another, she sits sprawled on the cinder track in a shot more appropriate for a top-rack title.

Where the fuck are those pictures?! Horrible journalism. Just horrible.
