Anna Kournikova competed in a triathlon
Hell we just did a post on a pole vaulter so it only makes sense to follow it up with a post about a former tennis player running a triathlon. I think it's in the book Blogging for Dummies (which I really need to finish/start writing). Anyhoo, Miss Anna Kournikova competed in the Nautica South Beach Triathlon.
I myself have never competed in a triathlon, but I would venture to guess that if Anna were to start out right in front of me in a swimsuit, then in the clothes you see in these pictures, I would find a way to keep up.

Keep it pure? Huh?
The last thing on my mind after seeing this K-Swiss ad is something pure.
That's Alona Bondarenko, the 23rd ranked tennis player in the world, btw. New spots featuring tennis players Tommy Haas, Alona Bondarenko and Anna Kournikova, among others, will air this weekend during the Final Four. Goodie for us.
More Alona...

Ana Ivanovic's photoshoot for Sports Monthly
I don't know what the hell Sports Monthly is, but if they are doing photoshoots of tennis hottie Ana Ivanovic, I may have to find out.
My only complaint with this is that Ana is wearing far too much clothing. This Sports Monthly has a lot to learn if they want to compete with pubs like SI. Skin wins, baby.

Tennis is way more violent than I realized
Thanks to Orson Swindlespencerhall over at TSN, I now come to realize that when you play tennis and make a bad shot, the thing to get you back on track is to repeatedly bash yourself in the face with your own tennis racket as Mikhail Youzhny demonstrates below.
I think that maybe the open wound on his head might have distracted his opponent a little as Youzhny went on to win seven straight points and the match.

Andy Roddick has a tough life; engaged to a swimsuit model
Despite the fact that his fans hate her, tennis star Andy Roddick, 25, is now engaged to SI swimsuit model, Brooklyn Decker, 20. I guess they better get used to her now.
According to Andy's official Web site...
Andy proposed in early March. The couple wanted to tell their family and close friends first but good news travels fast. By the time Andy arrived in Miami for the Sony Ericsson Open, the tournament was bustling with the news.
The couple met in New York City last year and have been dating since. With their hectic travel schedules, Andy and Brooklyn plan to enjoy their engagement and will wait to set a wedding date.
"...plan to enjoy their engagement..." That's code for Andy might want to dip his wick in some new strange at some point and doesn't want to be locked in to one babe jusssst yet. I know how he feels. Why be pinned down to this prime 20-year old piece of ass when you have so many other opportunities? Me and Andy, we're like brothers when it comes to this kind of thing.

Elena Dementieva looks good in white
Elena Dementieva is a pretty damn good tennis player. She is also a pretty damn fine looking woman. Another thing we love about Elena is that her Web site has plenty of pics so we can study her, uh, form.
Women's tennis has never looked sexier than it does right now. We've got Elena, Maria, Ashley, and a slew of other hot female tennis players to watch these days. Anna Kournikova, you are to be commended for the example you set, lo those many years ago.
Good to know Elena wears panties even when not on the court...

The 50 Hottest Women of Sports
Recently PopCrunch compiled what they feel is the definitive list of the hottest women in sports. This list is quite similar to another one we discussed a while back done by CO-ED Magazine. As we did with that list, we'll take a look at who PopCrunch put on their list and where.
50. Daniela Hantuchová: WAY too low on the list.

40. Danica Patrick: I like her, but this is probably about right.
38. Francesca Piccinini: An Italian volleyball player with a nice rack.
29. Michelle Wie: No. No. No.
28. Posh Spice: ???
25. Milene Domingues: Ronaldo's ex-wife, a good soccer player, babe.

24. Laure Manaudou: Wanna see her naked?
23. Stacy Keibler: Hot, but barely qualifies in my book.
18. Anna Rawson: I told you how I feel here.
17. Kristina Lum: Synchronized swimming is awesome.
12. Niki Gudex: Pro mountain biker babe.
9. Amanda Beard: Too high on the list.
3. Allison Stokke: Way too high.
2. Bia e Branca: Twin synchronized swimmers! Should be #1.

1. Anna Kournikova: What sport does she play again?
While I must beg to differ with players' significant others being included, overall, it is a tremendous collection of tuna and well worth a visit.
