Spygate was apparently a lot about cheerleaders

Big ups to the ladies over at The Professional Cheerleading Blog for uncovering what Spygate was really all about: San Diego Chargers cheerleaders!

According to the AP’s Rachel Cohen, "the most scandalous part of the tapes shown before Goodell's news conference had nothing to do with stealing signals - it was several minutes of close-ups of San Diego Chargers cheerleaders performing during a 2002 game."

Thankfully, the women at TPCB did some investigative work to show us what was being taped.



Can you believe this is the first post I have done on Spygate? I wonder why that is? Maybe because other than cheerleaders somehow being involved, NO ONE CARES! Do you hear me Arlen Specter?

The Eagles cheerleaders are shooting their swimsuit calendar

The hottest cheerleaders in sports, the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders, are in the process of making their yearly book of hotness (aka their swimsuit calendar). This year they are also going green in ways other than the color of the teams unis.

The 38 bio-licious women on the squad will be wearing bikinis made of 95% organic cotton and recycled plastic soda bottles as well as jewelry and accessories made from bamboo and other recycled, upcycled and repurposed products such as CDs, computer chips, glass, cable wire, candy wrappers and watch parts. Additionally, the cheerleaders will be using cosmetics and hair supplies that are earth friendly and locations for the calendar shoot will include an ecological park and alternative energy elements.



Personally I think they could also do great things for the environment by not wearing any clothes at all. Just thing of the kids in China that wouldn't have to make those clothes, or the savings in materials used to make clothes for the girls. Yeah, naked is the ultimate way to go green.

The Buffalo Jills had a party

The Buffalo Bills front office wasn't only part of the Bills organization that was busy this past weekend. While the GM and coach were busy making draft picks, a more important event was taking place at Club Paradise in Blasdell, New York (population: 2,718): The Buffalo Jills Congratulatory Party! All in all, by comparison to the parties that the Kings Dancers and the Wizards Dancers throw, this seemed (unfortunately) quite tame.

A man with his priorities straight

So you find out that you only have a few more days to live and you have one wish. What would it be? To skydive? To climb a mountain? To meet the President? To meet the Pope? Nah... those are all lame. How about meeting the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders? Now we're talking!

A terminally ill North Texas man recently received his dying wish to meet the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, NBC 5 reported.

Mark Harris, Jr., a 26-year-old cancer patient, was all smiles as the cheerleaders greeted him.

Atta boy!! This guy knows how to take advantage of a bad situation. Good for him.



Oh yeah, he also got to meet the Dallas Maverick Dancers too. Lucky bastard. And I mean that in the best possible way.

An update on NFL Cheerleader auditions

The NFL Cheerleader squads are taking shape almost faster than I can report on them.

One squad that I always look forward to seeing, based strictly on the fact that their base of applicants is amongst the best in the country, are the San Diego Charger Girls. More than 400 ladies signed up for the chance to be one of the 28 to cheer on LT, Philip (one L), and the boys. They have whittled it down and are mere days away from announcing the final cut.






Another squad I always look forward to with much anticipation has announced their final cut. The Arizona Cardinals! Here's a class picture for ya!

More NFL Cheerleader squads finalized!

In our continuing efforts to keep you up to speed on the progress of all the NFL teams making their selections for their 2008 cheerleading squads, we are glad to announce that several teams have completed the selection process putting us that much closer to knowing all the lovely ladies that will be prowling the sidelines at NFL games this fall.

The other day we told you about how the Los Angeles Kings (that's an NHL hockey team) tried out using hot girls to clean up the ice during a game on Saturday, March 29, then asked their fans what they thought of the concept. We have now come in contact with more pictures of the girls doing their thing. Maybe this will help the fans decide whether they liked the girls or not.



Yeah, that's a tough call... Hot girls, in tight tops and pants, bending over a lot... hmmm. If they got rid of the girls wearing sweatshirts over their tight little tops I think they might be on to something.

P.S. I'd hate to think spent all that money on those uniforms for nothing. The NHL isn't exactly flush, you know.

Since we last discussed the goings-on in NFL cheerleader tryouts a couple of teams have made their cuts and chosen which lucky ladies get to prance and dance on the sidelines of their team's games. Bring on the new blood!

The Marlins' Mermaids need your help

In our continuing effort to promote everything cheerleader, we are here to let you know that the Florida Marlins' Mermaids are looking for your assistance. (Frankly, we hope the trend of cheerleaders in baseball catches on... quick.)

Proving that it's not enough to just find strippers dancers to help get the crowd in the right mood, they now want you to vote for your favorite Mermaid in the Marlins Mermaids Tournament Challenge.

Orioles' reliever Rocky Cherry's mom was a babe

Baltimore Orioles reliever Rocky Cherry discovered at a young age that his mom was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Only makes sense since her name is Merry Cherry.

As a young boy, Orioles reliever Rocky Cherry found a poster of a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader while rummaging through his house. Then he found out that his mother had been more than a third-grade Catholic school teacher. Surprise. Merry Cherry was part of the famed cheerleading squad in 1975 and 1976 - three years before her son was born.

Somewhere in the pic below is his mom. If anyone out there can tell me which one she is, you'll win nothing.

Having a mom who is a former Cowboys cheerleader apparently has its perks too...

"Now that I look back, it was a pretty cool accomplishment," [Rocky] said. "She's done well with it. She does those reunions and gets to go back, and I get to meet some of the newer cheerleaders because she's hanging out with them, so that's a good thing."

Yeah, I guess getting to meet these girls might be a good thing...

The Final Four is set!

No, not the one with greaseball coaches and college athletes, I am talking about the Final Four that makes a difference, the NBA Dance Team Final Four. Filling out your West bracket are the Clippers Spirit Squad and the Rockets Power Dancers. Your East final two are the Sixers Dancers and the two-time defending champion Heat Dancers.



I am taking the Rockets Power Dancers in an upset over the defending champs. I think that overall they have more depth and I like their inside game better than the Heat's.

Can pants be too tight on a hot woman?

When it comes to hot chicks, can their pants ever be too tight? Before you answer let me present Exhibit A, Posh Spice...



According to the Daily Mail, Posh's latest weight-loss diet is claimed to consist of prawns and strawberries. I think she needs to stop weight-loss diets and mix in a pizza or two for a weight-gain diet.

You know, every time I go to the amusement park, I enjoy the rides, get some exercise, have fun watching kids running around high on sugar, but there has always been something missing. I could never put my finger on it though. Until now. Cheerleaders! THAT'S what's been missing!

Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader auditions are under way!

In my opinion, the Philadelphia Eagles have the finest cheerleaders in sports, so to make this squad, ladies are gonna have to really bring it. Let's see what type of woman thinks she has what it takes as we gander at those that participated in the preliminary round of the 2008 Eagles Cheerleaders audition.



Over 300 women attended the Open Call Auditions for the 2008 Eagles Cheerleader squad on Saturday. That's a lot of tuna, my friends. I wonder what the silicone-to-saline ratio was at this event?

Patriots hold auditions for the right to be near Tom Brady

As promised, when the NFL teams hold their tryouts for the rights to cheer on their teams, we'll bring it to you. Today, we get you up to speed on the tryouts in New England.

More than 300 women showed up to try and make the squad this year. Call it "The power of Tom." I REALLY want to meet this girl stretching on the left.



The flexibility of some of these women is truly astounding. If any of them don't make the team this year, I am sure I can find them some work that will put their talents to good use.
