EliteXC to create women's title for my future wife

OK, well, maybe not exactly for my future wife, but I would be willing to bet that they know Gina Carano's waist size for the belt the champ will receive.

During a media conference call on Tuesday, EliteXC live events president Gary Shaw announced the intention of creating a women's title later this year, as well as possibly putting together an all-women's fight card to air on television in 2009.

And I wasn't totally blowing smoke about Gina being the first champ...

Shaw also confirmed that the first title would be at 140-pounds, although he didn't rule out possibly creating titles for women in different weight classes in the future. He also mentioned the winner of the fight between Gina Carano and Kaitlin Young as one of the likely participants in the first EliteXC women's title bout.

According to my man, The Prophet, from The Savage Science:

[Gina will] need to look out for Shayna Baszler who could probably put on a few pounds and compete for the title. She's turned into a fighting machine since she began training with Josh Barnett early last year and hasn't lost since. Barnett got her to quit looking to standup and trade punches--I don't know her height but she looks shorter than a lot of the MMA fighters--and instead become a ground fighting submission monster (essentially the same way he fights). Check out the sick submission that ends this fight (below). She's really a cool chick--she's not supermodel hot like Carano but she seems like she'd be great to hang out and drink beer with.



Carano and Kaitlin Young will fight in a featured bout in the debut edition of CBS-EliteXC Saturday Night Fights on May 31.

Meet the chick whose ass will be kicked on May 31 by Gina Carano

So last night, my man The Prophet emails me to let me know about the chick, Kaitlin Young, that my future wife Gina Carano will be fighting on May 31 live on CBS. He goes on about how tough Young is and her training, blah, blah, blah...

Ah, hell, here's the exact conversation...

The Prophet: Your gal Gina Carano has a tough opponent for her 5/31 fight in Kaitlin Young, who's also got Muay Thai training... (sends me the video below) Watch her work the knees from the MT clinch...

Me: She better not pull that shit on my girl or I am gonna have to go Ike Turner on her ass. Eh, I'm not scared. Gina will beat that ass. [Ed. note: I am so eloquent.]

The Prophet: Man, I wouldn't mess with that chick....you're a braver man than I am. I've *had* my nose broken three times. I don't want to go for #4. That's some serious Anderson Silva shit with her Muay Thai knees...I don't even think Ike Turner would have the guts to backhand her...

Then this morning he writes this post. I think he is doing this to deliberately get me into a tizzy.

Gina "Crush" Carano to fight on CBS' Elite XC debut

My future wife is going to be back on network TV sooner than thought. Gina Carano, aka Crush on American Gladiators, will be a part of CBS' venture into the world of mixed martial arts when it debuts Saturday Night Fights featuring Elite XC on May 31.

CBS has signed a multi-year agreement with Pro Elite's Elite XC and will broadcast four MMA events per year as two-hour live prime time specials.



Kimbo Slice is also scheduled to fight on the debut show's card, while Scott Smith will be taking on Robbie Lawler in a five round fight in which Lawler's EliteXC middleweight title will be on the line.

Here's a clip from a classic fight between Gina and one of the other hotties of MMA, Julie Kedzie, that ends up going the distance with Gina giving Julie quite the beatdown.

Gina Carano again, because I'll miss her

Since I am going to be going through Gina-withdrawal this week with no American Gladiators to watch, I figured I'd post some more pics of my future wife to help me through the week.

Man I am gonna miss her beating contender ass. If they don't renew that show for another season I am gonna be crushed.

As I have stated elsewhere, Gina Carano is my next wife, she just hasn't been notified yet. And if you are wondering who Gina Carano is, well, she's "Crush" on the new American Gladiators, but to me she is a woman who busts up asses in MMA.



That's right... beat that ass, Gina.
