So you probably know by now that I have an unhealthy obsession with Gina Carano. I SAW HER FIRST! Well, the guy in the video I am about to show you is about as lucky a man as there is, behind me of course (once Gina and I actually, uh, meet). This man got to grapple and spar (i.e. roll around on top of and vice versa) with Miss Carano. Be still my heart...
Yes, I know this video is over a year old and the guy probably doesn't get to spar with her anymore, but does that really make it any less AWESOME?!

Kimbo Slice before he was a household name
You'll never, ever believe this, but at one time in his life, Kimbo Slice was arrested. No, seriously, he was!
Kevin Ferguson, aka Kimbo Slice, was arrested by Miami Beach cops in May 2002 on gun and open container charges. Open container charges?! Damn. How can they let a guy like that out in public let alone fight other people on TV for money?!

MMA superstar and American Gladiator Gina Carano is on the cover of this month's Muscle & Fitness, which was mentioned during Saturday's fight. The folks at Muscle & Fitness were also kind enough to shoot a video of her working out in preparation for the beatdown she gave Kaitlin Young that night.

Breaking: Gina Carano fails to make weight; still hot as f--k
As you are very aware if you are a reader of this site, Gina Carano is set to face-off with Kaitlin Young tomorrow night as EliteXC makes it's network debut on CBS. Oh yeah, Kimbo Slice is fighting too, if you care.... pffft. Anyway, today was the big weigh-in and Gina juuussst missed her target weight of 140 by a mere 4.5 pounds. Ooof... not even close.
Normally, she would have one hour to lose 3.5 pounds (she weighed in at 144.5); however, MMAMania.com learned from Nick Lembo, the New Jersey Athletic Control Board (NJACB) Deputy Attorney, that the regulatory body didn't want her to cut weight anymore weight at that time.
Therefore, prior to the official weigh-ins, a deal was struck between the Carano and Young camps that the fight would go on and Conviction would surrender a 12.5 percent purse penalty.
What a shock. The fight will go on? You mean they actually thought about canceling the fight everyone wants to see and that they've promoting the hell out of of for weeks now? Yeah, right.
Oh yeah, and that Kimbo guy is fighting too, like I said. He made weight. No problem.

Everybody knows I haven't gotten that much time to prepare for it. I just got done filming American Gladiators so I've been hittin' it hard for the last two weeks. I've got two more weeks left and so...I'm just doing it.

EliteXC to create women's title for my future wife
OK, well, maybe not exactly for my future wife, but I would be willing to bet that they know Gina Carano's waist size for the belt the champ will receive.
During a media conference call on Tuesday, EliteXC live events president Gary Shaw announced the intention of creating a women's title later this year, as well as possibly putting together an all-women's fight card to air on television in 2009.
And I wasn't totally blowing smoke about Gina being the first champ...
Shaw also confirmed that the first title would be at 140-pounds, although he didn't rule out possibly creating titles for women in different weight classes in the future. He also mentioned the winner of the fight between Gina Carano and Kaitlin Young as one of the likely participants in the first EliteXC women's title bout.

According to my man, The Prophet, from The Savage Science:
[Gina will] need to look out for Shayna Baszler who could probably put on a few pounds and compete for the title. She's turned into a fighting machine since she began training with Josh Barnett early last year and hasn't lost since. Barnett got her to quit looking to standup and trade punches--I don't know her height but she looks shorter than a lot of the MMA fighters--and instead become a ground fighting submission monster (essentially the same way he fights). Check out the sick submission that ends this fight (below). She's really a cool chick--she's not supermodel hot like Carano but she seems like she'd be great to hang out and drink beer with.
Carano and Kaitlin Young will fight in a featured bout in the debut edition of CBS-EliteXC Saturday Night Fights on May 31.

So last night, my man The Prophet emails me to let me know about the chick, Kaitlin Young, that my future wife Gina Carano will be fighting on May 31 live on CBS. He goes on about how tough Young is and her training, blah, blah, blah...
Ah, hell, here's the exact conversation...
The Prophet: Your gal Gina Carano has a tough opponent for her 5/31 fight in Kaitlin Young, who's also got Muay Thai training... (sends me the video below) Watch her work the knees from the MT clinch...
Me: She better not pull that shit on my girl or I am gonna have to go Ike Turner on her ass. Eh, I'm not scared. Gina will beat that ass. [Ed. note: I am so eloquent.]
The Prophet: Man, I wouldn't mess with that chick....you're a braver man than I am. I've *had* my nose broken three times. I don't want to go for #4. That's some serious Anderson Silva shit with her Muay Thai knees...I don't even think Ike Turner would have the guts to backhand her...

Gina "Crush" Carano to fight on CBS' Elite XC debut
My future wife is going to be back on network TV sooner than thought. Gina Carano, aka Crush on American Gladiators, will be a part of CBS' venture into the world of mixed martial arts when it debuts Saturday Night Fights featuring Elite XC on May 31.
CBS has signed a multi-year agreement with Pro Elite's Elite XC and will broadcast four MMA events per year as two-hour live prime time specials.
Kimbo Slice is also scheduled to fight on the debut show's card, while Scott Smith will be taking on Robbie Lawler in a five round fight in which Lawler's EliteXC middleweight title will be on the line.
Here's a clip from a classic fight between Gina and one of the other hotties of MMA, Julie Kedzie, that ends up going the distance with Gina giving Julie quite the beatdown.
