The ghost of Owen Hart haunts Kemper Arena... maybe

You remember Owen Hart don't you? The wrestler who fell to his death from a catwalk in Kemper Arena in Kansas City on May 23, 1999 during a WWE (then WWF) pay-per-view. I was actually watching the event when it happened and it's a moment I won't soon forget. It turns out that a few of the people who work at Kemper say they have seen his ghost.

"Employees (at Kemper Arena) have claimed to have seen (Hart) in the rafters wearing the costume he was wearing for his gimmick, as well as the cable before he began the descent. There have also been reports of flickering lights and other power sources that seem to go on and off in some areas of the arena."

The gimmick they speak of is that of The Blue Blazer (pictured to the right).

This story first appeared in The Anchor, a student newspaper at Rhode Island College. Why it appeared in some nondescript school paper in the Northeast is beyond me. Also curious is that the story had no attributions. The assistant G.M. of Kemper Arena says that none of his employees have ever mentioned Owen Hart's ghost to him. So, why is this news just coming to light now?

Oh yeah, WWE's Monday Night Raw will be taking place at Kemper Arena on May 19th. I'm sure Vince McMahon had nothing to do with this story, which as I said first appeared in a Northeastern newspaper, showing up on our news wires a couple of months before his troupe returns to that venue. He would never do anything sleazy like that just to generate buzz for one of his shows, now would he?
