The Orange Bowl hosted its final event on Saturday before eventual demolition. Former Dolphins and Hurricanes came together for the "big" event.
"I respect everything the Dolphins and Hurricanes accomplished here," said [Jason] Taylor, who was the only current Dolphins player on the field Saturday. "But the real reason I'm here is to catch a pass from Dan Marino."
Don Shula, Howard Schnellenberger, Devin Hester, Kim Bokamper, Melvin Bratton, Joe Rose, Lamar Thomas, and about 15,000 fans were in attendance.
Yes, all the big names were out. (Ugh.) Former Dolphins wide receiver Mark Duper ran a couple plays and then sat out the rest of the game with a back injury. Sounds like it was quite the spectacle.
One name was conspicuously absent from the roster of people who participated and was a tremendous oversight as far as I am concerned.
